National Day of Prayer = May 2, 2019

The National Day of Prayer is a day set aside when people of all faiths come together in prayer.

In 1775 The Continental Congress asked Colonists to pray when the country was being formed.

In 1952 President Truman made The National Day of Prayer an annual observance, which congress approved stating” In times of national crisis when we are striving to strengthen the foundations of peace= We stand in need of Divine support.

Since then each year the President issues a Proclamation designating = The first Thursday in May As a National Day of Prayer on which the people of the United States may turn to God in prayer and meditation at church, in groups, and as individuals.

We are very blessed indeed to be able to do this in our country.

The theme for this years=  National Day of Prayer is ” Love one another.”

Dr Ronnie Floyd president of the National Day of Prayer announced that the theme of the 2019 observation on May2,2019 will be ” Love One Another just as I have loved you.”

Love can change America.

“We need a baptism of love by The Holy Spirit that will immerse the entire church of Jesus Christ in America, and a baptism of love that will immerse from the church house to the state house, and all the way to the White House. We need to learn to love one another.”

Dr Floyd urged believers across the nation to do everything they can to call people in the United States to unite in public prayer in the days leading up to and on the National Day of Prayer.

Official hashtag for the day of prayer is #love1another.
