New Year”s Resolutions.

I love making New Year”s resolutions. I think most people do. I will close the door to last year, and open the door to this new year and let the light of Christ shine in. One of my resolutions is to continue to focus on balancing my six life arenas as best I can each day. I have written in detail about our six life arenas in my book [ From Medjugorje to Spiritual Blogger. ] I have found that balancing my six life arenas ha helped me become more peaceful and whole.

The six life arenas are   1] Self  2] Relationships 3] Spirituality 4] Career 5] Leisure 6] Family.

They do not have to be in order. These occur in everyday life.

1] Self:  Doing all that I can to help myself be as healthy as I can, caring for all my needs

2] Relations: My friends, coworkers, and family all need me. How are these relationships doing? Maybe I can improve this year?

3] Spirituality: Having a spiritual life means spending time with God in prayer each day. My suggestion is reading scripture daily. Anytime is a good time to start- all you need is a Bible and an open heart. I have found that the Holy Spirit speaks to us through reading Holy Scripture. Maybe begin with the letters from St Paul.

4] Career: Making a living for oneself, and one”s family. Career is very important in our lives, but we must remember that we have six life arenas to balance each day. Each one of these arenas has its place of importance.

5] Leisure: We need to do something to relax each day, something we enjoy, something that makes us happy, and is not job related.

6] Family: To share myself with my family, to be present to them, to listen, to speak, to comfort, to be gentle and loving.
